Why do you care so much about a warranty? Afraid to turn a wrench?

That’s an average of 117.4 miles PER DAY, including weekends. Your commute sucks.

Price on parts? The Chrysler TIPM, a known problematic part, costs upwards of $400. Let’s not even get into a touchscreen infotainment setup. Control arm bushings on the newer Chryslers tend to go at around 100K miles too....

Prepare on selling a kidney if the A/C condenser or heater core go, because I guarantee you will NOT want to do it yourself. I do plenty of my own wrenching. I happily worked some overtime to pay someone else to change the A/C condenser on my Nitro.

That’s why you turn your own wrenches. Example New to me Outback , Put it on the lift for an oil change, found a torn cv shaft. I called the dealer for a quote $550. I called Nappa for a part $80 + 12 pack of beer and 45 mins of work. Wallet saved....nothing on that jeep is really that expense almost all the parts can be bought remanned or found at a pick n pull.

that’s why you bypass the TIPM http://www.verticalvisions.com/TIPM_solutions.php And you never get a car with a factory touchscreen. Heater core and A/C condenser aren’t that much and you can do it yourself....option 2 you’rea jeep owner who need A/C and creature comforts it’s not a BMW or MB. It’s time to cut the fender and stuff some big tires on it.

Heater core and evaporator on most Chrysler SUVs involve TOTAL dash removal. Ever done that? The mechanic I paid to do it stated it was one of the worst ones he’s ever done.

I’ve done plenty of heater cores in other cars. I won’t touch the Dodge one.

Agreement on the factory touchscreen. Everyone I know with one has had it shit the bed.

All heater cores are bad...but they can all be bypassed as well....who need heat.....in all seriousness when they are designing a car they first start with the heater core then they add everything else around it to make it impossible to get to...that just what car engineers like to do.

Maintaining your coolant will go along way to extending the life of your heater core.....there’s no such thing as 100,000 mile or life time coolant....it all gets more corrosive over time so replace it every 3 years or 36k.

Crazy to think we’re 3 years in (this month) to our GC. I think we’re at 16k on it. We bought the extended warranty that covers all the pricey bits, UConnect, the air suspension, etc, etc.

Combine that with the Taco, that just turned 10k at just about two years, and I guess you can say we don’t drive that much. That one I’m not worried about warranty. I picked up ‘15 knowing it was already 10 years old at that point, design-wise, and is pretty simple to work on.

Yeah, didn’t make a difference on this one. Crapped out at 72k.

I can change a heater core on a fox platform Ford in under 2 hours. Not all of them are horrible. None are fun, but some are easier than others.

Hello fellow WK2 brethren. Do you have cloth seats?

Hello! It’s the old 2012 Laredo “X” trim, so pretty much a Laredo with the 5.7, leather, 6-speed, and navigation on the smaller screen.

I guess I’ll ask anyway, does your bottom seat cushion frame make any noise or seem to move around when you are stopping?

Can’t seem to find my issue. I believe it may just be a problem with the whole adjustment track assembly. Very low quality seats (for cloth anyway).

I haven’t had any seat issues. My cruise control working is about 50/50 though.
